Peugeot have always made exciting hot hatches. The 306 GTi, 205 GTi are two cars from the past that automatically register in any car enthusiast’s memory. Now, after an absence of the GTi badge from Australian shores for the past 15 years, Peugeot have released the 308 GTi.
The car has been developed by Peugeot Sport, the in-house motorsport division that have experience in creating both road and race cars.
Two models are offered in the 308 GTi range with a 1.6-litre THP (Turbo High Pressure) petrol engine with two different outputs depending on the model. The GTi 250 has 184kW whilst the GTi 270 has 200kW both with a six-speed manual transmission. Peugeot claims 0 to 100km/h is 6 seconds in the GTi 270 and 6.2 for the GTi 250.
